WESTRAN is a mainstream rock band started in 2006 by Brant Westran. Brant began singing and writing music while earning his degree in Psychology. After several attempts at a record deal Brant found his way to Japan where he taught English during the day and performed acoustic rock at night. It was in Kyoto that Brant decided the only way to fight the powers of the major labels was to start his own record label. Once returning to Canada, Brant recorded his debut album ‘Acoustasoul’ and made it the first release of his home grown label, B.Shan records (Kamloops). Even with immediate major label interest Brant was fearless in his pursuit to be a Canadian indie success story. Hungry for the business of music, Brant went back into the studio with State of Shock producer, Tim Neuhaus, and set out to produce one of BC’s most inspiring rock albums. Brant recorded what would be B. Shan Record’s most extraordinary achievement to date, ‘3 in the Morning’. Praised for his songwriting and production ability, Brant won the respect of critics and industry professionals from all over the world. 3 in the Morning was met with such radio success that Brant was prompted to recruit the best musicians BC has to offer and strive to become the biggest rock band in the world. Following in the footsteps of super bands who placed importance on both music and the business of music, WESTRAN will forever continue to strive for world domination.

 | Adam Robinson has been playing guitar so long that he only remembers being very little when he first held a pick. The Kamloops native sharpened his skills through years of constant strumming and jamming, gradually developing his sound. Adam’s versatility and flair for screaming guitar solos make him a valuable member of the duo that is Westran. Aaron Shufletoski - Drums
 | Shufle is a fourth generation musician who grew up traveling in the back seat of a Pontiac listening to everything on the AM dial from classic rock of the sixties to the large productions of the seventies to heavy glam and synthesized rock of the eighties. The drive to play didn’t appear until the nineties when grunge-rock exploded out of Seattle. Shufle picked up a guitar, learned the opening chords to Smells Like Teen Spirit and fronted the first of many bands (the fourskins , Repus Eyepop , 8 Cylinder ). While fronting these alternative-rock bands, Shufle became a mainstay at neighbourhood jams behind the drums, learning from many different musicians and discovering many different genres of music. After co-forming Scully and the Mulders and drumming for the Blues / Folk / Roots quartet, Shufle has finally found the place for his solid, heavy hitting that has been influenced by Canadian rockers such as Andrew Scott , Johnny Fay , Joules Scott-Key and Jason Hirsch in Westran . |
